Welcome to Lowell Dental Care! We foster a warm, welcoming environment at our Lowell, MI dental office where we strive to provide the most pleasant dental experience. Our experienced dentist and our dental team focus on providing high-quality dentistry, educating our patients on our dental treatments, and building long-term relationships. Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Kayla Muxlow Fisher, DMD
Dr. Muxlow grew up in the small town of Brown City in eastern Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Alma College in 2015, majoring in Biology while competing on the varsity volleyball team. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in the top 10% of her class. During dental school, she participated in international mission trips, providing free care to communities in Ecuador. In 2019, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and received the Hinman Scholarship for leadership and clinical excellence.
Dr. Muxlow has been working to further her education, completing several courses through the Pankey Institute. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and West Michigan Dental Association.
In 2025, Dr. Muxlow became the owner of Lowell Dental Care. She is passionate about building strong relationships within the community and providing exceptional dental care to patients of all ages. She and her husband, Riley, have two daughters, Margaret and Lucille. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, and playing with their dog, Murphy.
Meet Our Team
Shelly – Hygiene Coordinator
Bio
Shelly joined our team in 2020, bringing an extensive background in dental insurance. She also holds an Associate Degree in Business Management. Shelly values being part of a team that feels like family and appreciates the supportive environment at Lowell Dental Care.
She and her husband have three children and one grandson. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, reading, and being outdoors with her dogs.
Cara – Office Manager
Bio
Cara brings nine years of dental experience to Lowell Dental Care. She earned her Associate’s degree from Montcalm Community College and a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Davenport University. Cara began working as a dental assistant with Dr. Kayla in 2019 and became Dental Office Manager in 2025. Patients may still see her chairside as she continues assisting Dr. Kayla while managing the office.
As Office Manager, Cara works closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient care. She is committed to providing outstanding service to the Lowell community and making the office a professional, welcoming, and enjoyable place for both patients and staff.
Outside of the office, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband, Jordan, their two daughters, five cats, and one dog. She loves being outdoors during the summer, supporting her children in their sports year-round, and staying creative through arts, crafts, and home improvement projects.
Janetta – Registered Dental Hygienist
Bio
Janetta joined Lowell Dental Care in 2022 with over ten years of dental experience. She earned her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Grand Rapids Community College in 2010 and is a registered myofunctional therapist. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health and is committed to the oral–systemic connection and its impact on overall health. She values building lasting, meaningful relationships with patients and being part of a supportive, positive team environment.
Outside of the office, Janetta enjoys spending time with her daughter, her three sisters, and extended family. She loves camping, weekend adventures, rock hunting, and gardening.
Andrea – Dental Assistant
Bio
Andrea joined Lowell Dental Care in 2023 and brings a strong foundation in patient care and clinical support. She received her dental assisting education from Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, where she was born and raised. Andrea enjoys working alongside her dental family and is passionate about creating a comfortable, positive experience for every patient.
Outside the office, Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, along with two dogs and four cats. She loves traveling, reading, and making memories with family and friends.
Leah – Dental Hygienest
Bio
Leah joined Lowell Dental Care in 2025 as a Dental Hygienist. She previously worked as a Registered Dental Assistant and brings 16 years of experience in dental care. She graduated from LCC Dental Hygiene School in 2024 and is dedicated to creating a relaxing, welcoming environment while providing top-quality patient care. Leah takes pride in educating patients, easing dental anxiety, and helping people maintain healthy, confident smiles.
Outside of the office, Leah enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with her husband, Aaron, and making memories with their son and family dog.
Andrea (Ang) – Treatment Coordinator
Bio
Andrea, also known as Ang, joined Lowell Dental Care in 2025. She brings over eight years of dental experience in billing, having earned her Associate’s degree in Medical Billing and Coding in 2013. Ang appreciates how welcoming and supportive the team has been since day one. As Treatment Coordinator, she helps patients understand their treatment plans, insurance benefits, and financial options while working closely with the clinical team to ensure a smooth, positive experience.
Outside of the office, Ang enjoys spending time outdoors, going on adventures, and exploring the wilderness with her partner, Matt. They have a blended family with two girls and two boys and share their home with five dogs. In her free time, she enjoys painting and drawing.
