Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Kayla Muxlow, DMD
Dr. Muxlow grew up in the small town of Brown City in eastern Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree at Alma College in 2015, where she majored in Biology and participated in varsity volleyball.
She continued her education at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors in the top 10% of her class. While at the University of Louisville, Dr. Muxlow participated in international mission trips, where she helped to provide free care to local communities in Ecuador. In 2019 she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society for having demonstrated exemplary traits of character and professional growth, and she received the Hinman scholarship for exemplary leadership and clinical work ethic.
As a new doctor to the area, she is eager to start practicing and serve her community. She enjoys traveling, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her puppy, Murphy.

Shelly – Hygiene Coordinator
Shelly joined our team in 2020, and though she is new to the practice she has an extensive background in dental insurance. She also holds an associate degree in Business Management. She loves that our team here at Lowell Dental Care made her feel at home right away. Shelly and her husband have three children and one grandson. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and can often be found cooking, baking, reading and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
Whitney – Treatment Coordinator
Whitney joined our team as our treatment coordinator here at Lowell Dental Care in 2022. She brings a smiling face, positive attitude & experience to our front desk team. She earned her Associate degree in laboratory science at State University of New York Broome. With her clinical knowledge and experience, she is able to not only present patients with their treatment plans & financial options, but also educate and help answer any questions about treatment. Whitney enjoys working with her dental family & is fortunate to work within the community that she lives! Whitney and her husband have 2 daughters and a dog. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family, hiking and kayaking.
Janetta – Registered Dental Hygienist
Janetta joined our team here at Lowell Dental Care in 2022. She received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Grand Rapids Community College in 2010. Janetta is also a member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health & she genuinely cares about the oral systemic connection & how it relates to the entire health of our patients. Lasting relationships with patients are also very important to her. You will truly be in good hands and will receive the best possible care during your visit with Janetta. She appreciates being part of a caring team & working in a stress-free environment. In her free time, Janetta enjoys spending time with her daughter & 3 sisters who she is very close with, camping with family, weekend adventures, rock hunting & gardening.
Cara – Dental Assistant
Cara joined our team in 2021. She brings several years of experience with her as a dental assistant. Cara enjoys working with the rest of our team and shares a willingness to help and support them as well as all our patients. By educating patients about their treatment and care, she makes them feel as comfortable as possible throughout their appointment. Cara and her husband have two beautiful daughters Ava & Scarlet. Some of her hobbies include home improvement projects, working in her yard and she loves to organize! She is also currently working toward earning her bachelor’s degree in business management.
Professional, experienced and will gladly explain in detail every operation. In my case a particularly tricky impacted tooth was handled smoothly and with care. Changed my life!
